Refreshing a channel in Tareno

Social networks require apps like Tareno to maintain active connections called "access tokens." These tokens periodically expire for security reasons. When this happens, you'll need to refresh the connection.

Token Expiration by Platform:

*Refresh tokens can be revoked if you change your password or remove app permissions.

How to Refresh Your Channel:

1. In Tareno, go to Dashboard → Channels.
2. Find the channel showing "Needs Refresh" or a warning icon.
3. Click the "Refresh" button next to the account.
4. You'll be redirected to the social network. Log in and click "Allow" to reauthorize.
5. Once completed, you'll be redirected back to Tareno and your channel will be active again.

When Refreshing Isn't Enough - Reauthorization: Sometimes a simple refresh won't work and you need to fully reauthorize the connection:

TikTok:

1. Open the TikTok app → Menu → Settings and privacy.
2. Go to Security & permissions → Apps & services permissions.
3. Find "Tareno" and tap "Remove access."
4. Return to Tareno and reconnect the channel.

Instagram/Facebook:

1. Go to facebook.com/settings → Apps and Websites.
2. Find Tareno and click "Remove."
3. Return to Tareno and reconnect.

YouTube:

1. Visit myaccount.google.com/connections.
2. Find Tareno and click "Delete all connections."
3. Return to Tareno and reconnect.

Pinterest:

1. Go to pinterest.com/settings/apps.
2. Find Tareno and click "Revoke access."

Q: Will Tareno automatically retry failed posts after I refresh? A: No. After refreshing, you'll need to manually retry any posts that failed. Look for the "Retry" button on failed posts in your calendar.

Q: Why does TikTok disconnect so often? A: TikTok access tokens expire every 24 hours. Tareno automatically refreshes these in the background, but if the refresh fails (e.g., network issue), you may need to manually refresh.
