What is MCP and why does it matter?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets compatible clients call Tareno tools with typed inputs and outputs. Tareno still enforces account ownership, scopes, plan limits, and approvals on the server.
Do I need coding skills to set this up?
No. Setup is a single JSON config file that you paste into your AI client. No programming required. If you can copy and paste, you can connect Tareno to your AI.
Which AI tools are supported?
Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor connect over Streamable HTTP. OAuth 2.1 is available for compatible clients, including personal ChatGPT connections where custom MCP access is enabled. See the OpenAI connection guide above. Public directory publication is separate.
Is my data secure when using MCP?
The MCP server is hosted by Tareno. Your client sends the API key as a Bearer credential over HTTPS; Tareno stores API keys only as hashes. Keep the key in your client secret store or an environment variable. Consequential actions also require approval in the authenticated Tareno dashboard.
What happens if I exceed my API call limit?
Pro plans include 2,000 API calls per month. Business plans have unlimited calls. If you approach your limit, we send a notification. You can upgrade anytime or wait for the next billing cycle.
Can I use MCP with n8n or Make.com instead?
Absolutely. If you prefer visual workflow automation over chat-based control, use our n8n node or Make.com modules. Both connect to the same API and offer the same capabilities. See /docs/n8n and /docs/make for guides.

Channels and social-video capabilities
Tareno's account, post, draft, scheduling and publishing workflows cover all ten channels. Transcript extraction and public-video download are available on the channels marked below.
Core MCP includes accounts, platform rules, posts, drafts, scheduling and publishing where the connected provider supports the requested format.
Inspect your own account videos
Call list_accounts, then list_account_posts with accountId and mediaType=video. Use the returned postRef in get_account_post, get_post_analytics and list_post_comments. For a transcript, pass the video's public permalink to get_social_media_transcript. Publishing still uses create_drafts, schedule_posts or publish_posts with dashboard approval where required.
Remote post history is currently available for six providers; other connected channels show Tareno-published posts. Analytics are cached by default (15 minutes); use refresh=true for an on-demand update. Unavailable metrics are null. Comment text requires platform permission and is not available from TikTok's standard Display API.
If providerUnavailable reports ACCOUNT_RECONNECT_REQUIRED, reconnect that channel in Tareno; an expired platform token cannot be repaired by changing the Tareno API key. PROVIDER_PERMISSION_DENIED means the platform token lacks access to that data. A connected channel does not guarantee access to every historic post, metric or comment. The comments capability marks an available adapter, not permission for a particular video.
How to call the new tools
In Codex, Claude Code or Cursor, the recommended approach is a plain-language request. Name the platform, include the public HTTPS URL and say whether you need timestamps or a media-library import.

Only public HTTPS posts are supported. Private, deleted, login-gated or region-blocked content can fail. A downloadUrl is temporary and should be consumed promptly; the tool returns a URL, not the binary file.
