Let Claude turn a long report into slide copy, a caption and alt text, save the carousel as an Instagram draft in Tareno and request a slot you approve yourself.
Can Claude turn a long report into an Instagram carousel and schedule it through Tareno?
Yes. Claude reads the report you attach to a Project, drafts the text for each slide, a caption and the alt text, then saves the carousel as a draft for your Instagram account through Tareno. The slide images come from your design tool and have to be in your media library. A scheduling request stays pending until you approve it in Tareno.
Reports and white papers hold the best Instagram content a B2B brand owns, but nobody reads page 23 on a phone. A carousel can carry the three findings that matter, one idea per slide. Claude is a good fit because it reads the whole document before it writes, keeps your brand rules in a Project and can explain why each slide made the cut. With the Tareno plugin it also saves the result where your team reviews it. This page shows the route from a finished report to a carousel draft, and what still needs a human before anything is published.
Example: a retail research firm shrinks a 40-page report
Picture a research firm that has just finished a quarterly retail report. The marketing lead creates a Claude Project called "Retail Q3", uploads the PDF and a one-page style note that bans exaggerated claims. In a chat inside the Project they ask for the three findings a store manager would act on, each tied to a page. Claude answers with the findings and the page numbers, and the lead picks two plus one chart. Claude drafts eight slides of short copy, a caption under the Instagram limit and alt text for each slide. The designer has already exported eight images, so Claude asks Tareno for list_media, matches the filenames to the slide order and saves the carousel through create_drafts. The lead opens the draft in Tareno, fixes one number that Claude had rounded, and asks for Tuesday 08:00 in Europe/London. Tareno holds that request as a pending action until the lead approves it.
Step by step
01
Put the report into a Project
Upload the report and your style note to a Claude Project, and write down which figures may be published. Every later chat in the Project starts from that same source, which keeps a series of carousels consistent.
02
Choose the findings first
Ask Claude for the three or four findings your audience would act on, each with the page it comes from. You pick the story before any slide is written, so the carousel does not become a summary of the table of contents.
03
Draft slides, caption and alt text together
Ask for one short block per slide, a caption within Instagram's 2,200 characters and alt text for every image. Claude writes them as a set, which makes the last slide answer the question the first one raised.
04
Match the slides to your images
Claude calls list_media and pairs each slide with a filename from your library. If a slide image is missing, say so; Claude cannot design graphics, so the image has to be created and added first.
05
Save the carousel as a draft
Claude saves the images in order with the caption through create_drafts for your Instagram account. Open the draft in Tareno and read every slide as a follower would see it, in sequence.
06
Request a slot and approve it
Give a date, a clock time and an IANA time zone. The request becomes a pending action; approve it in the dashboard, and ask Claude for get_action_status the next day to confirm what happened.

Pick the findings
Using the report in this Project, name the three findings a [store manager] could act on this month. For each one give the page number, the exact figure and a one-line reason it matters. Use only figures that appear in the report and do not draft any slides yet.
Write the whole carousel
Turn findings [1, 3 and the chart on page 12] into an eight-slide Instagram carousel. Give me one short text block per slide, a caption under 2,200 characters that ends with a question and alt text for every slide. Follow the style note in this Project and flag any slide that needs a figure I should double-check.
Save it to Tareno
Use Tareno to find the files [slide-01 to slide-08] in my media library, in that order. Save them as an Instagram carousel draft for [account name] with this caption: [caption]. Do not schedule anything. Return the draft ID and tell me if a file is missing.
Request the slot
Ask Tareno to schedule draft [draft ID] for [Tuesday 08:00] in the [Europe/London] time zone. Return the pending action ID and remind me that I must approve it in the Tareno dashboard before the carousel can go live.

What Instagram itself documents
API publishing is limited to Instagram professional accounts. If the account is linked to a Page that requires Page Publishing Authorization, it cannot publish until that authorization is complete.
A carousel can hold up to 20 images or videos, mixed. Tareno's own composer configuration lists up to 10 images per Instagram post.
Alt text sent through the API applies to image posts only; reels and stories do not support it.
Instagram's own documentation says API publishing works for professional accounts and that a carousel can hold up to 20 items. Tareno's composer configuration for Instagram lists up to 10 images per post, which is the limit you will meet first.
Tareno takes alt text of up to 1,000 characters for each media item. Instagram's documentation lists alt text for image posts and says reels and stories do not support it, so write it for the carousel and expect no effect on a reel.
A caption on Instagram can run to 2,200 characters in Tareno's configuration, and media is required: a post without an image or video is rejected, which suits a carousel.
Because Tareno can list posts of the connected Instagram account, including ones published outside Tareno, Claude can check how earlier carousels performed before it proposes the next one.
What does not work
Claude cannot design the slide images, so the carousel needs finished image files in your Tareno media library before a draft can be saved.
It cannot publish the carousel by itself, because every scheduling or publishing request waits for your approval in the Tareno dashboard.
It cannot guarantee that a finding is still accurate when the report is outdated, so the date of the source has to be part of your review.
Mistakes to avoid
Letting Claude round a figure to make a slide punchier. Compare every number on a slide with the page in the report before you request a slot.
Putting too much on a slide. If a block needs more than two short lines, move the detail to the caption and keep the slide to one idea.
Forgetting the slide order. Instagram shows images in the order they are saved, so check the sequence in the Tareno draft, not in the chat.
Treating Claude's summary as the evidence. The report is the source; ask for page numbers so a colleague can verify each claim in a minute.
Open the published Tareno listing, choose install or connect, and complete the Tareno login. Enable Tareno in a new conversation. For Claude, search for Tareno in the supported plugin directory.
Choose OAuth, connect and sign in with your own Tareno account. Check the requested permissions. Refresh the client's tool list after authorization.
Run list_accounts first. Confirm the returned workspace and account IDs before creating a draft. If no accounts appear, connect a social account in Tareno first.

Can Claude read a 40-page PDF and pick what belongs on Instagram?
Yes. Attach the PDF to a Claude Project and ask for the findings your audience would act on, with page numbers. You choose which ones become slides, and Claude drafts the copy from the report only, which makes every claim traceable.
Does Claude create the images for the carousel?
No. Claude writes the text, caption and alt text. The slide images have to come from your design tool and be in the Tareno media library, where Claude finds them with `list_media` and pairs them with the slides in order.
How many slides can a Tareno carousel have?
Tareno's composer configuration for Instagram lists up to 10 images per post. Instagram's own API documentation allows up to 20 items in a carousel, so the Tareno limit is the one that applies to your drafts today.
Can Claude write alt text for each slide?
Yes, up to 1,000 characters per media item in Tareno. Instagram's documentation says alt text through its API applies to image posts and that reels and stories do not support it, so it helps for carousels of images.
Will the carousel go live as soon as Claude saves it?
No. Saving creates a draft. A scheduling or publishing request becomes a pending action in Tareno and waits until you approve it in the dashboard, so you always read the draft before anything reaches Instagram.
Can Claude check how my last carousel performed?
It can list the posts of your connected Instagram account, including ones published outside Tareno where Instagram's API allows it, and read analytics for a chosen post. It then compares the structure of your best carousels with the new draft.
