Let Claude read a webinar transcript, pick the moments worth a Short, write scripts and titles within YouTube's limits and save the drafts in Tareno for your approval.
Can Claude turn a long recording into YouTube Shorts and schedule them through Tareno?
Partly. Claude reads the transcript of your recording, chooses the moments worth a Short and writes scripts and titles of up to 100 characters. Tareno saves drafts for your YouTube channel, but the video clips have to be cut and exported by you and sit in your media library. Scheduling stays pending until you approve it in Tareno.
A one-hour webinar contains five or six minutes that would work as stand-alone Shorts, and finding them takes longer than watching it again. A transcript makes the search a reading task, and Claude reads long text carefully. The limit of the setup is plain: Claude writes the scripts and titles, but it does not cut video. This page follows a language-course creator through the full loop, from transcript to Short titles that fit YouTube's limits, to drafts that wait in Tareno for clips you cut yourself, with the approval step at the end.
Example: a language-course creator mines a live class
Imagine a teacher who streams a weekly Spanish class on YouTube. For one recording she asks Claude to fetch the transcript of the video with get_social_media_transcript and to find three moments of under a minute that make sense without context: a pronunciation trick, a common mistake and a short story. Claude returns the three moments with their timestamps, a 45-second script for each, a title under 100 characters and a one-line reason each would work. She cuts the three clips in her editor, vertical and under a minute, and uploads them to the Tareno library. Claude pairs files and titles with list_media, saves the drafts through create_drafts and she requests three slots on three days, which wait as pending actions until she approves them.
Step by step
01
Get the transcript of the recording
If the recording is a public video on YouTube, Claude can fetch its transcript through Tareno. For other sources, paste the text. Ask for timestamps so you can find each moment in the editor.
02
Choose moments that stand alone
Ask for moments that make sense without the rest of the class, each under about a minute when spoken. A Short that needs context to be understood loses viewers in the first seconds.
03
Write the script and the title together
Ask for a spoken script of about 45 seconds and a title of no more than 100 characters. Tareno's configuration limits YouTube text to that length, which is also YouTube's limit for titles.
04
Cut and upload the clips yourself
Claude cannot edit video. Export vertical clips of up to 60 seconds in mp4 or mov and add them to your Tareno media library, since Tareno's configuration lists that range for YouTube.
05
Pair clips with titles and save drafts
Claude finds your files with list_media, matches them with the scripts and saves the pairs through create_drafts for your channel. Open each draft in Tareno and play the clip next to its title.
06
Request slots and approve them
Give dates, times and an IANA time zone. Each request waits as a pending action until you approve it in the dashboard.

Find the moments
Use Tareno to fetch the transcript of my YouTube video [URL]. Find three moments of under a minute that make sense without the rest of the class. For each give the start and end timestamp, a one-line reason it works as a Short and the sentences I say in that moment.
Scripts and titles
For each of the three moments write a spoken script of about 45 seconds that starts with the hook in the first sentence, and a title of at most 100 characters. Keep my own wording where it is already clear, and show the script next to the timestamps.
Pair with my clips
I have uploaded the clips [file names] to my Tareno media library. Match them to the three scripts, save the pairs as YouTube drafts for [channel name] and return the draft IDs. Tell me if a clip is longer than 60 seconds or not vertical, and do not schedule anything yet.
Request the slots
Ask Tareno to schedule drafts [IDs] for [Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 17:00] in the [Europe/Madrid] time zone. Return the pending action IDs and remind me that nothing publishes until I approve each one in the Tareno dashboard.

posts published outside Tareno: yes; comments: yes; transcripts: yes; video download: yes
As configured in Tareno on 2026-10-24. The live rules for your own account come from the get_platform_schema tool.
What YouTube itself documents
YouTube allows Shorts of up to three minutes in vertical format. Tareno's configuration for YouTube currently stops at 60 seconds of vertical video, so a longer clip has to be shortened first.

YouTube in Tareno
The video is the one thing you must supply. Claude can find the three moments and write the words, but each Short needs its own exported clip in the library, so plan the editing time before you promise a posting schedule.
The text limit for YouTube in Tareno's configuration is 100 characters, the length of a YouTube title, and mentions are not supported, though hashtags are.
YouTube is one of the networks where Tareno can read transcripts, list the videos of the connected channel and read comments, so Claude can learn from your earlier videos.
Links are not supported in the text for YouTube, so a link to a course page has to go in a pinned comment or the description that you add in YouTube Studio.
What does not work
Claude cannot cut or reframe video, so the clips must be edited by you and uploaded to the Tareno media library before a draft can be saved.
It cannot put a link in the YouTube text, because Tareno's configuration lists links as unsupported for YouTube.
It cannot publish a Short itself, since scheduling and publishing requests wait for your approval in the Tareno dashboard.
Mistakes to avoid
Choosing a moment that depends on the previous ten minutes. If the Short starts with "as I said", it fails; pick a moment with its own beginning.
Writing a title that exceeds 100 characters. Ask for a character count, and keep the keyword near the start of the title.
Exporting a horizontal clip. Tareno's configuration lists a 9:16 ratio for YouTube, so reframe the clip before you upload it.
Trusting timestamps without checking. Play each clip against the script once, because a transcript can be a few seconds off.
Open the published Tareno listing, choose install or connect, and complete the Tareno login. Enable Tareno in a new conversation. For Claude, search for Tareno in the supported plugin directory.
Choose OAuth, connect and sign in with your own Tareno account. Check the requested permissions. Refresh the client's tool list after authorization.
Run list_accounts first. Confirm the returned workspace and account IDs before creating a draft. If no accounts appear, connect a social account in Tareno first.

Use the same Tareno account across supported clients. Open the relevant setup guide for authentication, first use, reconnect, and revocation.
It can find the moments and write scripts and titles for them. The cutting is yours: Claude cannot edit video, so you export vertical clips of up to 60 seconds and add them to your Tareno media library.
How long can a Short be in Tareno?
Tareno's configuration lists videos of 1 to 60 seconds for YouTube in a 9:16 ratio. YouTube's own help page allows Shorts of up to three minutes, so a longer clip has to be shortened before it can be scheduled through Tareno.
Can Claude read the transcript of my YouTube video?
Yes, for public videos. Tareno can fetch transcripts on YouTube, and Claude then works from the text with timestamps. For recordings that are not on YouTube, paste the transcript into the chat.
Why is my title limited to 100 characters?
Tareno's configuration limits the text for YouTube to 100 characters, which matches the limit YouTube applies to video titles. Ask Claude for a character count so a title does not get cut.
Can I add a link to my course in the Short?
Not in the text that Tareno saves, since links are not supported there for YouTube. Add the link as a pinned comment or in the description in YouTube Studio after the Short is published.
Will a Short go live without my approval?
No. A scheduling request becomes a pending action in Tareno. YouTube receives the video only after you approve it in the dashboard, and `get_action_status` shows what happened afterwards.
