Manus for Bluesky: A Researched Reading-List Thread
Use Manus with Tareno to research books on a topic, verify titles and years against catalogs and write a Bluesky reading-list thread saved as one draft you approve in Tareno.
Can Manus research books and prepare a reading-list thread for Bluesky?
Yes, over the tested custom MCP connection. Manus researches books on your topic, verifies the title, author and year of each against a catalog or publisher page, writes a thread with a short note per book and saves it as one draft through Tareno. Everything needs your approval in Tareno.
Reading lists are the kind of post people save: five books on one topic, each with a sentence on why. The labour is in the checking. A title is remembered slightly wrong, a year is off, a book is out of print, and the list loses its authority with the first reply that points it out. Manus does long research tasks well, which includes reading catalog entries and publisher pages, and Tareno saves the result as a single Bluesky thread. This page follows an independent bookseller through a themed reading list, with the verification of each detail, the honest note on availability and the manual connector that Manus needs today.
Example: a bookseller posts a five-book list on the history of maps
Imagine a bookseller who wants a thread of five books on the history of maps. She gives Manus her own shortlist of eight and asks it to research. Manus checks each title, author and year against a national library catalog and a publisher page, finds that one book was reissued under a different title in 2019, and that another is out of print in her country. It writes a root post and five replies, each with a one-line reason to read the book and the verified year. It saves the thread with create_drafts, and she swaps the out-of-print book for the reissue before requesting a slot.
Step by step
01
Connect Tareno as a custom connector
Add the Tareno endpoint as a custom MCP connection with OAuth.
02
Give your shortlist and your sources
List the books you are considering and the catalogs to check against. The bookseller's judgment chooses the books; Manus verifies the facts.
03
Ask for a verification table
Request a table with title, author, year, the source of each fact and any difference between editions. Nothing is written before the table is checked.
04
Check availability honestly
Ask Manus to note which books are out of print or reissued under another title. A list that recommends a book people cannot find loses trust.
05
Write the thread
Request a root post with the theme and one reply per book, each within 300 characters, with a reason to read it and the verified year.
06
Save, request and approve
Manus confirms the account with list_accounts and saves the thread as one draft through create_drafts. Give a time and an IANA time zone, and approve the request in the Tareno dashboard.

Verify the shortlist
Check these eight books against a national library catalog and the publisher's page: [list]. Return a table with the title, author, year, the source of each fact, whether it is in print and any edition with a different title. Tell me which sources you could not reach.
Mark availability
From the table, mark each book as in print, out of print or reissued, and for reissues give the current title and year. Recommend which five I should keep for a general reader, with a one-line reason for each, but leave the final choice to me.
Write the thread
Write a Bluesky thread for Tareno on the history of maps: a root post that names the theme and one reply per chosen book with a reason to read it in my voice and the verified year. Keep each post within 300 characters and add no claim that the table does not support.
Save the thread
Use Tareno to confirm my Bluesky account [shop handle] and save the approved posts as one thread draft. Return the draft ID and the number of replies, and request no time until I have checked the swapped title.
Bluesky limits and tools in Tareno

Video
mp4, 0 to 3 min, up to 100 MB, one video per post

links can sit inside the text and get a preview card
What Tareno can read
posts published outside Tareno: no; comments: no; transcripts: no; video download: no
Network-specific
a drafted thread can have up to 24 replies of 300 characters each
As configured in Tareno on 2026-10-24. The live rules for your own account come from the get_platform_schema tool.
What Bluesky itself documents
Post text is limited to 300 graphemes and 3,000 bytes, so an emoji counts as one grapheme but can use several bytes.
A post can embed up to 4 images, each up to 2,000,000 bytes.
Video embeds accept MP4 up to 300,000,000 bytes, with up to 20 caption files in WebVTT. Tareno's configuration is stricter: one MP4 of up to 180 seconds and 100 MB.
Tareno saves a Bluesky thread as one draft, so a five-book list can be one root post and five replies, with each book in its own post that can be quoted alone.
Tareno's configuration for Bluesky allows up to four images per post, so a cover image can go with a book if the publisher's terms allow it.
Links get an automatic preview on Bluesky in Tareno's configuration, so a catalog or shop link shows its title when added to a reply.
Tareno does not read posts or replies on Bluesky, so Manus cannot gather reader recommendations; you read them in the app.
What does not work
Manus cannot judge which books are best for your readers, so the bookseller chooses and Manus verifies the facts.
It cannot reach catalogs that sit behind a login, so those sources are outside its research.
It cannot publish the thread on its own, since a time request becomes a thread only after you approve it in the Tareno dashboard.
Mistakes to avoid
Trusting a remembered title. Verify each against a catalog.
Recommending an out-of-print book without saying so. Note availability.
Using a cover image without permission. Check the publisher's terms.
Assuming a public listing exists. Manus connects to Tareno through a custom connection today.
Open the client's MCP server settings. Add Tareno with the HTTPS endpoint below using Streamable HTTP. This requires support for authenticated remote MCP, not just local stdio servers.
Choose OAuth, connect and sign in with your own Tareno account. Check the requested permissions. Refresh the client's tool list after authorization.
Run list_accounts first. Confirm the returned workspace and account IDs before creating a draft. If no accounts appear, connect a social account in Tareno first.

Use the same Tareno account across supported clients. Open the relevant setup guide for authentication, first use, reconnect, and revocation.
Use the tested custom MCP connection in Manus with OAuth and your own Tareno account. Availability depends on your Manus plan and workspace permissions. After connecting your own Tareno account, run list_accounts and check the returned profiles before creating a draft or requesting a publishing time.
What does Manus verify about each book?
The title, author and year, from a library catalog or publisher page, plus whether the book is in print and whether it was reissued under another title. It records the source of each fact so you can check.
Does Manus choose the books?
It can suggest, but the bookseller chooses. The list is a judgment about readers, and Manus's job is to make sure that the facts about the chosen books are right.
Can the thread include book covers?
Up to four images per post fit in Tareno's configuration. Use covers only with the publisher's permission, and add alt text that names the title and the cover's main image.
Does Manus need an API key?
No. The custom connection uses OAuth with your Tareno account, and Manus stores the authorization. Do not paste a key or token into a task, because it would remain in the conversation.
Will the list be posted without my approval?
No. A scheduling request becomes a pending action in Tareno, and Bluesky receives the thread only after you approve it in the dashboard. `get_action_status` shows what happened afterwards. After connecting your own Tareno account, run list_accounts and check the returned profiles before creating a draft or requesting a publishing time.
