Message OpenClaw the names of finished clips and a few notes; it prepares YouTube Shorts titles and drafts through Tareno and waits for your approval in the dashboard.
Can OpenClaw turn finished clips and a chat message into YouTube Shorts drafts?
Yes. Message OpenClaw on WhatsApp or Telegram with the names of clips that are already in your Tareno library and a few notes about each job. It writes a title for each, checks your YouTube channel and saves Shorts drafts through Tareno. It cannot film or edit, and every scheduling request stays pending until you approve it.
Tradespeople and small service businesses film the best marketing they own while they work: a finished tile pattern, a repaired roof, a before-and-after of a bathroom. The footage sits on a phone because writing a title and uploading takes time that a job site does not leave. OpenClaw closes that gap by living in the chat apps people already use. This page follows a renovation contractor who sends two lines about a job after work and finds a Short draft waiting in Tareno, with the limits that matter: OpenClaw does not film, edit or publish on its own.
Example: a bathroom-renovation contractor posts a before-and-after
Imagine a contractor who finishes a bathroom and uploads three phone clips to the Tareno media library from the van. That evening he messages OpenClaw on WhatsApp: the clip names, the district of the job and that the customer agreed to be shown without the street. OpenClaw reads the library with list_media, finds the clips, writes one title per clip, each under 100 characters and without the address, and saves them through create_drafts for his YouTube channel. It answers in the chat with a table of clip, title and draft ID. He corrects one title, then asks for Saturday 10:00 in Europe/Berlin. The request waits as a pending action until he approves it in Tareno.
Step by step
01
Upload the clips first
OpenClaw cannot reach files on your phone. Add the finished clips to your Tareno media library, vertical and between 1 and 60 seconds, in mp4 or mov, because that is the range Tareno's configuration lists for YouTube.
02
Message the details
In a channel that is set up in your OpenClaw Gateway, send the clip names, what the job was and what may or may not be shown. Customer consent belongs in this message, so the titles respect it.
03
Let it find the clips
OpenClaw checks the library with list_media and confirms which files it found. If a name does not match, it should say so instead of guessing.
04
Review titles in the chat
OpenClaw replies with a table of clip, title and character count. A YouTube title in Tareno is limited to 100 characters, so correct anything that is too long right there.
05
Save the drafts
Once you agree, OpenClaw saves the Shorts as drafts through create_drafts for the channel you name. Nothing is scheduled yet.
06
Request slots and approve them
Say the day, the time and the time zone. The request becomes a pending action, and you approve it in the Tareno dashboard before YouTube receives anything.
Prompts to copy
Find the clips and propose titles
Use Tareno to look in my media library for the clips [file names]. For each write a YouTube Shorts title under 100 characters about [a bathroom renovation in the district of Neukölln]. Leave out street names and the customer's name, and show clip, title and character count in a table. Save nothing yet.
Save the confirmed titles
The titles are confirmed with one change: [clip 2 is shorter]. Save the three Shorts as drafts for my YouTube channel [name] through Tareno and reply with the draft IDs next to the clip names. Do not schedule anything.
Weekly reminder run
Every Friday at 16:00, check through Tareno which clips in my media library have no draft yet. List them with the date they were added and ask me in the chat which job each one shows. Never create a draft or schedule anything without my reply.
Request the slot
Ask Tareno to schedule draft [draft ID] for [Saturday 10:00] in the [Europe/Berlin] time zone. Reply with the pending action ID and tell me that nothing is published until I approve it in the Tareno dashboard.

As configured in Tareno on 2026-10-24. The live rules for your own account come from the get_platform_schema tool.
What YouTube itself documents
YouTube allows Shorts of up to three minutes in vertical format. Tareno's configuration for YouTube currently stops at 60 seconds of vertical video, so a longer clip has to be shortened first.

YouTube in Tareno
YouTube is a video network, so the chat message alone can never create a post. OpenClaw needs a clip name that exists in your library, and it will stop and ask when a name does not match instead of drafting a title for a clip it cannot find.
YouTube text in Tareno is limited to 100 characters, which is the length of a title, and mentions are not supported, while hashtags are.
Links are not supported in the YouTube text, so a phone number or booking link has to be added as a pinned comment in YouTube Studio after publishing.
Tareno can list the videos of the connected YouTube channel and read their comments, so OpenClaw can summarize questions viewers asked under earlier clips.
What does not work
OpenClaw cannot film or edit video, so every Short depends on clips that already exist in your Tareno media library.
It cannot add a link to the YouTube text, because Tareno's configuration lists links as unsupported for YouTube.
It cannot publish a Short by itself, since scheduling and publishing requests wait for your approval in the Tareno dashboard.
Mistakes to avoid
Putting the street or the customer's name in a title. Say in your message what may not be shown, and read each title before saving.
Sending a horizontal clip. Tareno's configuration lists 9:16 for YouTube, so reframe on the phone before uploading to the library.
Expecting OpenClaw to see your phone's gallery. It only sees what is in your Tareno media library.
Running a reminder job while the Gateway is off. The Friday check only fires if the Gateway is running at that time.
Open the client's MCP server settings. Add Tareno with the HTTPS endpoint below using Streamable HTTP. This requires support for authenticated remote MCP, not just local stdio servers.
Choose OAuth, connect and sign in with your own Tareno account. Check the requested permissions. Refresh the client's tool list after authorization.
Run list_accounts first. Confirm the returned workspace and account IDs before creating a draft. If no accounts appear, connect a social account in Tareno first.

Can I send OpenClaw a message and get a YouTube Shorts draft?
Yes, if your clips are already in the Tareno media library and your channel is configured in the OpenClaw Gateway. It writes titles from your notes and saves drafts through Tareno. You approve any scheduling request in the Tareno dashboard.
Does OpenClaw edit or film the video?
No. It writes titles and prepares drafts. The clips have to be filmed and edited by you, exported as vertical mp4 or mov files of up to 60 seconds and added to your Tareno media library.
How do I keep customers' details out of titles?
Say in your message what may and may not be shown, and ask OpenClaw to leave out names and addresses. Then read each title in the chat or in Tareno before you request a slot; Tareno only sees what OpenClaw sends.
Can OpenClaw remind me about clips without drafts?
A scheduled OpenClaw run can check the library and message you, as long as the Gateway is running at that time. Keep its tool list to reads and drafts so a reminder run can never schedule or publish anything.
How long can a Short be?
Tareno's configuration lists 1 to 60 seconds for YouTube in a vertical ratio. YouTube's help page allows up to three minutes, so keep clips short enough for Tareno or trim them before uploading.
Can OpenClaw answer comments under my Shorts?
It can read and summarize them, because Tareno exposes comment reading for YouTube. It cannot post replies; you write and publish those yourself in YouTube Studio.
