How do I connect Tareno to Perplexity Computer?
Open Plugins in the sidebar of Perplexity, or Customize and then Connectors if you do not see Plugins yet, choose Add custom, then Connector and Add MCP connector, and select Remote. Enter a name and the HTTPS address of Tareno's MCP server, choose OAuth 2.0 as the authentication and finish the sign-in. Perplexity's help center describes this flow, and Tareno has not completed a client test.
Connect Perplexity in four steps
1
Check that you can add a connector
Perplexity's help center says custom remote connectors are added from Plugins or from Customize and Connectors. On an Enterprise plan, members cannot add custom connectors unless an administrator has switched on that permission, so ask them first if the option is missing.
2
Enter the Tareno address
Choose Add custom, then Connector and Add MCP connector, then Remote. Give the connector a name and paste the HTTPS endpoint shown on the right. Perplexity requires HTTPS for a remote server, which Tareno's endpoint uses.
3
Choose OAuth and sign in
Select OAuth 2.0 as the authentication. Perplexity registers itself with servers that support dynamic client registration; if registration fails, its help center says you may need to enter a client ID and secret. After you add the connector, click its card to start the sign-in with your own Tareno account.
4
Start with a read-only request
Ask Perplexity to call your connected accounts before it drafts anything. The account you meant to post from appearing in the answer is the confirmation you need; A successful empty result may mean no profiles are linked in Tareno; an authentication or connector error does not.
Review text, media, account, and time in Tareno and approve.
Where Perplexity Computer helps with Tareno
Sources are what make Perplexity worth using, and they are also what makes a social post believable. These jobs use that, and each has a workflow guide.
01
Cited research becomes a sourced X post
A post that links its source earns more trust than one that asserts. Perplexity can research a question, report the sources it used with their dates and write a post within 280 characters that names the source, leaving it to you to open each source and confirm that it says what the post claims before a draft is saved.
02
A weekly source review becomes an attributed LinkedIn briefing
For people who follow a field closely, the weekly briefing is the product. Perplexity can read the sources you name, keep cited facts apart from commentary and write a LinkedIn post that attributes every item, which makes it easy to see where the facts end and the author's opinion begins.
03
A claim you doubt becomes a checked statement
Before posting a number you half remember, ask Perplexity to find the primary source and tell you whether the figure holds. If it does not, the correction costs a minute, while a corrected post costs credibility. The check belongs before any draft exists, not after it.

01
Check the connection
Use Tareno to list my connected social accounts with platform and account name. Read only: do not create, schedule or publish anything. Tell me which account you would use for a sourced X post and which for a weekly LinkedIn briefing.
02
Research with dates
Research topic using only sources published in the last 30 days. List each source with its publisher, date and the exact claim you take from it, and mark any claim that rests on a single source. Do not write a post yet.
03
Sourced X draft
From the research above, write an X post within 280 characters that states one finding and names its main source. Then use Tareno to confirm my X account handle and save the approved text as a draft. Return the draft ID and the text.
04
Attributed LinkedIn briefing
Write a LinkedIn briefing of about 200 words from the sources I named: list. Attribute every item to its source in the text, keep my commentary in a separate closing paragraph and save the approved version as a draft through Tareno.
05
Request the slots
Take the approved drafts draft IDs and ask Tareno to schedule them for Monday 08:30 in Europe/Berlin. Return the action IDs and remind me that each request still waits for my approval in the Tareno dashboard.
All Perplexity Computer guides
One guide for every network this agent can work with in Tareno, each with its own example, prompts and limits.
Tareno has submitted a catalog request to Perplexity and has not completed an end-to-end test of the connector. Setup follows Perplexity's help center, so verify it with a read-only call.
Custom remote connectors depend on your plan. Secondary guides report that a free plan may not show the option, and on Enterprise an administrator can switch the permission off.
Perplexity's help center says the add flow appears under Plugins, while other guides place it under Account settings. Menu names change, so read them against your own account.
Scheduling, publishing, edits to scheduled posts and deletions create approval actions. Perplexity can request them but cannot approve them.
Citations show where a claim came from, not that the source is right. You open the sources that carry a post before you approve it.
Perplexity Computer compared with other cloud agents
Manus and Grok Bot also run tasks in the vendor's cloud and reach Tareno through a custom connection. Perplexity's distinction is that its research is cited by design, which suits posts that need a source line. If your work is drafting from your own documents, Claude Cowork or a chat assistant is the closer fit.

mcp · Setup documented; client test still required
Open the client's MCP server settings. Add Tareno with the HTTPS endpoint below using Streamable HTTP. This requires support for authenticated remote MCP, not just local stdio servers.
Choose OAuth, connect and sign in with your own Tareno account. Check the requested permissions. Refresh the client's tool list after authorization.
Run list_accounts first. Confirm the returned workspace and account IDs before creating a draft. If no accounts appear, connect a social account in Tareno first.

Use the same Tareno account across supported clients. Open the relevant setup guide for authentication, first use, reconnect, and revocation.
Not yet. Tareno has submitted a catalog request and is waiting for Perplexity's review. Until a listing exists, you add Tareno yourself as a custom remote connector, if your plan allows it, and the tools behind it are the same.
Has Tareno tested the connection end to end?
Not completely. Tareno's OAuth accepts Perplexity's callback hosts, and the setup follows Perplexity's help center, but a full read-only run through a Perplexity account is still outstanding. Run `list_accounts` first and treat it as the test.
Why can't I see the option to add a custom connector?
Perplexity's help center says members of an Enterprise plan cannot add custom connectors unless an administrator allows it, and other guides report that eligibility depends on a paid plan. Check your plan and ask your administrator before looking for a workaround.
What if the sign-in fails at registration?
Perplexity normally registers itself through dynamic client registration. If that fails, its help center says you may have to enter a client ID and secret. Look at the Tareno MCP setup page for the sign-in details, and report the exact error so it can be checked.
Can Perplexity publish a post without me?
No. A scheduling or publishing request becomes an approval action in Tareno, and nothing reaches X or LinkedIn until you approve it in the dashboard. Perplexity can only report that the action is pending and read its status afterwards.
Do citations mean the post is accurate?
No. A citation shows where a claim came from, and the source can still be wrong or out of date. Open the sources that carry the post, compare the numbers and keep the commentary separate from the cited facts.
Does Perplexity need an API key for Tareno?
Not for the OAuth route. You sign in with your own Tareno account and Perplexity keeps the resulting authorization. Perplexity's form also offers an API-key option, but keep any key out of prompts, because anything typed there stays in the conversation.
Which Tareno tools will Perplexity call first?
Usually `list_accounts` to confirm the destination, then `create_drafts` to save the text. `schedule_posts` comes last and returns an approval action instead of publishing anything, and `get_action_status` tells you what became of the request.
