Claude for TikTok: Research Paper to Photo Carousel
Let Claude read a paper, pick the findings worth a swipe, write slide text and a caption and save a TikTok photo carousel draft in Tareno that you approve yourself.
Can Claude turn a long paper or article into a TikTok carousel through Tareno?
Yes. Claude reads the document you attach, chooses the findings that survive a swipe, writes the text for each slide and a caption with hashtags, and saves a photo-carousel draft for your TikTok account through Tareno. The slide images come from your design tool. A scheduling request stays pending until you approve it in Tareno.
Science and health educators on TikTok have a problem that most creators do not: their material has caveats. A paper says "in this sample, under these conditions", and a swipeable carousel rewards the opposite. Claude is a careful reader, so it is a good partner for compressing without lying. It can choose the findings, keep the qualifiers that matter and tell you where a slide says more than the source. This page follows a nutrition educator turning a published study into a photo carousel, from the Project with the paper to a Tareno draft that waits for your decision.
Example: a nutrition educator condenses a sleep study
Imagine an educator with a growing TikTok account who wants to cover a new study on sleep and snacking. She puts the paper into a Claude Project with a note: no advice for individuals, no claims beyond the sample. Claude proposes three findings with the page of each and a plain-language limit for each, such as "measured in 60 adults for two weeks". She picks two, and Claude writes seven slides of at most twenty words each, a caption with three hashtags and a closing slide that names the study. Her designer exports seven 9:16 images to the library, Claude pairs them through list_media, and saves the carousel with create_drafts. She reads it in Tareno and approves a Thursday evening slot.
Step by step
01
Give Claude the paper and the limits of what you may say
Add the study to a Project and write down the rules: no individual advice, no claims beyond the sample. Claude applies them to every slide, which is the point of keeping them in the Project.
02
Choose findings with their qualifiers
Ask for two or three findings, each with the page it comes from and the condition it holds under. A finding without its condition is the most common way educational content goes wrong.
03
Write slides that carry one idea each
Ask for slide text of at most twenty words, a closing slide that names the source and a caption with a few hashtags. TikTok photo posts are swiped quickly, so each slide has to work on its own.
04
Get the slide images made
Claude writes the words, but a designer or a template tool has to produce the images. Export them vertically and add them to your Tareno library in slide order.
05
Check the creator settings
Before saving, ask Claude to read the creator options with get_platform_options, so you see which privacy levels and interaction settings TikTok currently offers for your account.
06
Save, request and approve
Claude pairs images and text with list_media and saves the carousel through create_drafts. Ask for a time with a date and an IANA time zone; the request waits in Tareno until you approve it.

Findings with their conditions
Read the attached study. Give me the three findings a general audience could understand, each with the page number, the sample size and the condition it holds under. Mark anything that would be wrong to say as advice for an individual, and do not write slides yet.
Write the carousel
Turn findings [1 and 3] into a seven-slide TikTok photo carousel: one idea per slide of at most 20 words, a closing slide that names the study and its authors and a caption of under 150 characters with three hashtags. Keep every qualifier that the study states.
Check the account options
Use Tareno to read the TikTok creator options for my account [name]. Tell me which privacy levels are available and whether comments are enabled, and say what I should decide before this carousel is scheduled. Save nothing yet.
Save and request
Use Tareno to find the images [slide-01 to slide-07] in my media library, in order, and save them as a TikTok carousel draft for [account] with the final caption. After I confirm, ask for [Thursday 19:00] in the [Europe/Berlin] time zone and return the pending action ID.

creator settings come from get_platform_options (tiktok_creator_info)
As configured in Tareno on 2026-10-24. The live rules for your own account come from the get_platform_schema tool.
What TikTok itself documents
Direct posting needs an app that is approved for the video.publish scope. Content posted by unaudited clients is restricted to private viewing until the client passes TikTok's audit.
Before a direct post, the creator's current options must be queried: the allowed privacy levels, whether comments, duets and stitches are disabled, and the maximum video duration. In Tareno this is get_platform_options with the option tiktok_creator_info.
TikTok photo posts are where a document turns into a swipe: Tareno's configuration takes many 9:16 images in one post, which suits a seven-slide summary of a paper.
Captions on TikTok have room for far more than a few words in Tareno's configuration, so a short source line can sit in the caption instead of only on the last slide.
The creator's options, such as allowed privacy levels and whether comments are on, come from TikTok per account. TikTok's own documentation says a client must query them before a direct post, which Tareno exposes as a read tool.
TikTok's documentation says content posted by unaudited clients is restricted to private viewing, so the visibility you can choose depends on the creator options that come back for your account.
What does not work
Claude cannot design the slide images, so the carousel needs finished 9:16 images in your Tareno media library before a draft can be saved.
It cannot read comments on your TikTok posts through Tareno, because comment reading is not available for that network.
It cannot publish by itself, since scheduling and publishing requests wait for your approval in the Tareno dashboard.
Mistakes to avoid
Dropping the sample size to save a slide. "60 adults for two weeks" is the sentence that keeps the post honest; put it on the slide, not in a footnote.
Turning an association into a cause. If the study found a link, say link; Claude can be told to avoid causal verbs.
Assuming public visibility. Read the creator options first, because the available privacy levels vary by account and by what TikTok allows the connecting app to do.
Writing slides that need the caption to make sense. People swipe without reading captions, so each slide has to stand alone.
Open the published Tareno listing, choose install or connect, and complete the Tareno login. Enable Tareno in a new conversation. For Claude, search for Tareno in the supported plugin directory.
Choose OAuth, connect and sign in with your own Tareno account. Check the requested permissions. Refresh the client's tool list after authorization.
Run list_accounts first. Confirm the returned workspace and account IDs before creating a draft. If no accounts appear, connect a social account in Tareno first.

Can Claude summarize a study as a TikTok carousel?
Yes. Attach the paper to a Project and ask for findings with their conditions. Claude writes one idea per slide and a caption, and saves the carousel as a draft once your images are in the Tareno library. You verify each claim against the paper.
How many slides can a TikTok photo post have in Tareno?
Tareno's configuration allows up to 35 images per TikTok post, in a 9:16 ratio. Six to eight slides usually carry a study summary well, and a closing slide with the source keeps it credible.
Can Claude read my TikTok comments?
No. Tareno exposes comment reading for some networks but not for TikTok. You can paste comments into the chat and ask Claude to draft replies, which you then post yourself in TikTok.
What are creator options and why do they matter?
They are the per-account settings that TikTok returns before a post, such as allowed privacy levels and whether comments, duets and stitches are disabled. Claude can read them through Tareno so you decide with the real options in front of you.
Will my carousel be public?
That depends on the options TikTok returns for your account and the connecting app. TikTok's documentation says unaudited clients are restricted to private viewing, so read the creator options first and check the result in Tareno.
Does the carousel go live without my approval?
No. A scheduling request becomes a pending action in Tareno, and TikTok receives the post only after you approve it in the dashboard. `get_action_status` shows what happened afterwards.
