Use Grok Bot with Tareno to check a council's budget summary against the full document, then write a Bluesky thread with figures and page references, saved as one draft you approve.
Can Grok Bot compare a budget summary with the full document and draft a Bluesky thread?
Yes, over a custom remote MCP connection. Grok Bot reads the budget document and the press summary, reports where figures differ, writes a thread with page references and saves it as one draft through Tareno. scheduling stays pending until you approve it.
Municipal budgets are public and almost nobody reads them. The press summary tells you what the council wants you to notice, and the document tells you the rest. A local reporter or civic volunteer who can compare the two and explain the difference in a short thread does a real service, and Bluesky's threads suit the format. Grok Bot is good at reading documents and checking claims, and Tareno saves the thread as one draft on the account. This page follows a volunteer who runs a civic-data account through a budget season, with page references in every post and the rule that the document, not the summary, is the source.
Example: a civic volunteer explains the city's annual budget
Imagine a volunteer who runs a local civic-data account. She gives Grok Bot the 140-page budget document and the council's two-page press summary. Grok Bot compares them and reports that the summary gives a total for road maintenance that includes a one-off grant, while the document shows the recurring amount fell by 6 percent. It drafts a six-post thread with one finding per post, each with a page reference, and a closing post that links both documents. She checks the page numbers, and saves the thread with create_drafts. She requests an 18:00 slot.
Step by step
01
Connect Tareno manually
Register the Tareno address as your own connector wherever the plan permits and complete the sign-in. The option can be absent on some plans, and nothing here installs with a single click.
02
Give it both documents
Provide the budget document and the press summary. Say which one is the source: the document is, and the summary is the claim to be checked.
03
Ask for a comparison table
Request a table of the figures the summary mentions, the figures in the document with page numbers, and whether they match. Nothing is written before the table is checked.
04
Decide what the thread says
Pick the two or three differences that matter to residents. A thread that lists twenty figures is not read; one that explains three is.
05
Write posts with page references
Ask for one finding per post within 300 characters, each with the page it comes from. Page numbers let readers verify the claim themselves.
06
Save the thread and approve
Grok Bot confirms the account with list_accounts and saves the thread as one draft through create_drafts. Give a time and an IANA time zone, and approve the request in the Tareno dashboard.

Compare summary and document
Compare the council's press summary with the full budget document. Return a table of every figure the summary mentions, the matching figure in the document with its page number, and whether they agree. Mark every case where the summary includes a one-off item that the document shows separately.
Pick what matters
From the table choose the three differences that matter most to residents and say why for each in one sentence. Do not include a difference unless the document supports it on a named page, and tell me if the document leaves any figure ambiguous.
Write the thread
Write a six-post Bluesky thread for Tareno: one finding per post with its page reference, a post that explains what a one-off grant is, and a closing post that links the document and the summary. Keep each post within 300 characters and use no inflammatory words.
Save the thread
Use Tareno to confirm my Bluesky account [handle] and save the approved posts as one thread draft. Return the draft ID and the number of replies, and request no time until I have checked every page reference in the document.

What Bluesky itself documents
Post text is limited to 300 graphemes and 3,000 bytes, so an emoji counts as one grapheme but can use several bytes.
A post can embed up to 4 images, each up to 2,000,000 bytes.
Video embeds accept MP4 up to 300,000,000 bytes, with up to 20 caption files in WebVTT. Tareno's configuration is stricter: one MP4 of up to 180 seconds and 100 MB.
Open the client's MCP server settings. Add Tareno with the HTTPS endpoint below using Streamable HTTP. This requires support for authenticated remote MCP, not just local stdio servers.
Choose OAuth, connect and sign in with your own Tareno account. Check the requested permissions. Refresh the client's tool list after authorization.
Run list_accounts first. Confirm the returned workspace and account IDs before creating a draft. If no accounts appear, connect a social account in Tareno first.

Use the same Tareno account across supported clients. Open the relevant setup guide for authentication, first use, reconnect, and revocation.
Do I need a marketplace listing to use Tareno with Grok Bot?
Connect Tareno as a custom remote MCP server in Grok Bot, where your plan and workspace allow it. Use https://tareno.co/api/mcp and the authentication described in the setup guide. Run list_accounts to check the connected profiles before saving drafts.
Why make the document the source?
Because the summary is a selection. Grok Bot is told that the document is authoritative and the summary is a claim, so the thread reports where the two differ instead of repeating the summary.
How are figures kept short enough for 300 characters?
Round them in the text and point to the page for the exact amount. Grok Bot checks that the rounded figure is faithful and that the page reference shows the unrounded number.
Can the thread name individual councillors?
It can state public facts such as who proposed a measure, if the document says so. It should not guess motives or comment on people. Read the draft for words that go beyond the document.
How does Grok Bot get permission to use my account?
Through a browser sign-in that you complete once. What Grok Bot keeps is the resulting authorization, never your password, and nothing sensitive should be pasted into a prompt, where it would stay in the history.
Can the thread go out before I check it?
No. Each time request sits in Tareno as a pending action, and approval in the dashboard is the only way it reaches Bluesky. `get_action_status` reports what became of it.
