×Use Grok Bot with Tareno to compare a press summary with the paper's abstract, flag overstatements and write a measured Mastodon post that cites the paper, saved for approval in Tareno.
Yes, over a custom remote MCP connection. Grok Bot compares the press summary with the paper's abstract, flags claims that go beyond it and drafts a post that cites the paper and states the result as the authors do. scheduling stays pending until you approve it.

Academic Mastodon is a place where researchers read each other, so a university department posting research news has an unusually informed audience. They notice when a press summary says a study proves what its abstract only suggests. A department account that posts the careful version, citing the paper, earns trust that a press-office headline does not. Grok Bot is good at comparing two texts and flagging where one claims more than the other, and Tareno turns the careful version into a draft. This page follows a department's communications officer through a new paper, with the comparison as the center and a plain note on how Grok Bot connects today.
Imagine a communications officer with a press summary that says a new method "solves" noise in quantum sensors. She gives Grok Bot the summary and the paper's abstract. Grok Bot reports that the abstract claims a reduction of noise by a factor of three in a specific setup, and that the limitations section says the method has only been tested at low temperature. It drafts a 410-character post that states the factor of three, names the setup and the limit and links the paper. She saves it with create_drafts for the department's Mastodon account, and a postdoc on the paper checks the wording.
On plans that accept your own connectors, enter the Tareno address and finish the sign-in. The option may not exist for every plan, and there is no one-click install to fall back on.
Give Grok Bot the abstract, the limitations section and the press summary. The paper is the source, and the summary is the claim to check.
Request a table of every claim in the summary, the sentence of the paper that supports it, and whether the summary goes further than the paper does.
Ask for a post that states the result at the strength of the paper, names the setup and the main limit, and links the paper. Avoid words like solves or proves unless the authors use them.
Mastodon's documentation says limits are set per server, with 500 characters and 23 per link as the example. Tell Grok Bot your server's limit and ask for a count.
Grok Bot saves the post through create_drafts for the account confirmed with list_accounts. Give a time and an IANA time zone, and approve the request in the Tareno dashboard after an author has read it.
Compare the press summary below with the paper's abstract and limitations section. For each claim in the summary give the sentence of the paper that supports it and say whether the summary states it more strongly than the paper does. Summary: [text]. Abstract and limitations: [text].Write a Mastodon post within 450 characters that states the result at the strength of the paper, names the experimental setup and the main limitation, and links the paper [URL]. Do not use the words solves, proves or breakthrough, and use one hashtag in capitalized words.Use Tareno to confirm the department's Mastodon account [handle@server] and save the approved text as a draft. The claims in the press summary against the abstract and the limitations of the paper. It reports where the summary says more than the paper, and it never decides whether the underlying science is right.
Because a comparison cannot catch every nuance. The people who wrote the paper know which wording would misrepresent it, and a short read before approval is cheap protection for the department's credibility.
Mastodon's documentation requires scheduled posts to be at least 5 minutes ahead, so you can queue a post for the moment the embargo lifts. The request still needs your approval in the dashboard.
Through a browser sign-in that you complete once. What Grok Bot keeps is the resulting authorization, never your password, and nothing sensitive should be pasted into a prompt, where it would stay in the history.
Only if you approve it in the dashboard. Each time request sits in Tareno as a pending action, and `get_action_status` reports what became of it. Grok Bot cannot approve anything itself.
