Share a product spreadsheet and a photo folder with Claude Cowork; it maps each row to a board, writes pin text and saves one Pinterest draft per product in Tareno.
Can Claude Cowork read a product spreadsheet and prepare a pin for each row?
Yes. Claude Cowork reads the spreadsheet and photo folder you share, writes a pin title, description and alt text for each row, maps each product to a board and saves one draft per product through Tareno. It reports rows with missing data. You check prices and stock, and approval happens in Tareno.
Small shops keep their products in a spreadsheet and their photos in a folder, and the two rarely meet Pinterest. Making forty pins by hand means forty rounds of opening a photo, finding the product, writing a title and choosing a board. Claude Cowork works on shared files, so the spreadsheet and the folder are exactly its input. What it adds is consistency and a report of what is missing. This page follows a ceramics shop through a first batch, with the board mapping that makes the batch useful and the checks on price and stock that only the owner can do.
Example: a ceramics shop pins its spring collection
Imagine a shop with a spreadsheet of thirty-two products: name, material, colour, price, product URL and photo file. She shares it with the photo folder in a Cowork task. Cowork reads every row and reports that four rows have no URL and two photos are landscape. It maps products to her boards, Planters, Mugs and Gift Ideas, writes titles within 100 characters that start with the object people search for, and finds the photos with list_media. For the twenty-six complete rows it saves drafts through create_drafts. She fills the gaps in the spreadsheet and asks for a second pass.
Step by step
01
Clean the spreadsheet first
Make sure every row has a name, colour, price, URL and photo file name. Cowork reports gaps, but a clean sheet saves a round trip.
02
Share the sheet, the photos and the board list
Put the spreadsheet, the folder and the list of your boards in one Cowork task. A board list lets Cowork map products to places that exist.
03
Ask for a readiness report
Before any pin is written, ask for a table of rows that are complete, rows with missing fields and photos that are not tall. Fix the data, not the pins.
04
Write pin text from the row
Request a title within 100 characters starting with the object, a description of about 300 characters with material and colour, and alt text. Cowork should use only what the row says, not guess a glaze.
05
Match photos and boards
Cowork finds the photos with list_media and confirms the board list with get_platform_options. Tareno allows one image per Pinterest pin, so each product gets its own.
06
Save, request and approve
Cowork saves one draft per product through create_drafts with the product URL as the link. Spread the requests over weeks and approve each in the Tareno dashboard.
Prompts to copy
Readiness report
Read the spreadsheet [products-spring.xlsx] and the photo folder. Return a table of complete rows, rows with missing fields and photos that are wider than they are tall. Do not write any pin text yet, and tell me which column you used for each field.
Map to boards
Use Tareno to list my Pinterest boards for the account [shop name], then map every complete product to the best board and explain in a few words why. List products that fit no board, and suggest names for new boards that I would create on Pinterest myself.
Write the pins
For each complete row write a Pinterest title of at most 100 characters starting with the object, a description of about 300 characters using only the material, colour and size in the row, and one sentence of alt text. Do not mention a price in the description.
Save the batch
Use Tareno to find the photos named in the spreadsheet and save the approved pins as drafts with the product URL as the link and the mapped board. Return a table with draft ID, product and board, and request no times until I give you the schedule.

a Pin needs a board ID; read the boards with get_platform_options (pinterest_boards)
As configured in Tareno on 2026-10-24. The live rules for your own account come from the get_platform_schema tool.
What Pinterest itself documents
Every Pin is created on a board, so the request needs a board ID. The title may be up to 100 characters and the description up to 800.
Alt text may be up to 500 characters and the destination link up to 2,048. Both are optional in the API.
Tareno's configuration for Pinterest is stricter than the API: media is required, descriptions stop at 500 characters, and the link goes into its own field.
Tareno's configuration for Pinterest keeps the destination link in its own field with no automatic preview, so the product URL from the spreadsheet is a field of the pin rather than text in the description.
Tareno's configuration allows one image per pin and recommends a tall 2:3 shape, so a spreadsheet photo column should point to a portrait image.
Pinterest requires a board for scheduled or published pins, and mapping by spreadsheet category is a quick way to give every draft a board.
Pinterest's API description allows a link of up to 2,048 characters, which covers ordinary product URLs but not those with long tracking strings.
What does not work
Claude Cowork cannot check live stock or prices in your shop, so the owner confirms them before approving a request.
It cannot create a Pinterest board through Tareno, so a board for a new category has to be created on Pinterest first.
It cannot publish a pin on its own, since a time request becomes a pin only after you approve it in the Tareno dashboard.
Mistakes to avoid
Putting prices in descriptions. Prices change, and a pin stays for months; link to the product page instead.
Letting Cowork guess a missing attribute. If the glaze is not in the sheet, the pin should not mention one.
Pinning a product that is out of stock. Check stock before you approve a request.
Scheduling thirty pins at once. Spread them, or the batch competes with itself.
Open the published Tareno listing, choose install or connect, and complete the Tareno login. Enable Tareno in a new conversation. For Claude, search for Tareno in the supported plugin directory.
Choose OAuth, connect and sign in with your own Tareno account. Check the requested permissions. Refresh the client's tool list after authorization.
Run list_accounts first. Confirm the returned workspace and account IDs before creating a draft. If no accounts appear, connect a social account in Tareno first.

Use the same Tareno account across supported clients. Open the relevant setup guide for authentication, first use, reconnect, and revocation.
At least a name, material, colour, product URL and photo file name for every product. Cowork reports rows with gaps and does not invent missing values, so a complete sheet gets you a complete batch the first time.
Why not mention the price in the pin?
A pin can stay visible for a year or more, and prices change in that time. Put the price on the product page the pin links to, and keep the description about the object and its qualities.
How does Cowork choose a board?
It maps each product to one of the boards you give it, based on category and your wording, and explains the choice. Products that fit no board are listed for you to handle.
Can Cowork pin all thirty-two products in one day?
It can prepare them, but a burst of pins on one day is not a good rhythm. Ask for a schedule of a few per week and approve each request in the dashboard.
What happens if a photo is landscape?
Cowork reports it in the readiness table. Tareno's configuration recommends a tall 2:3 image for Pinterest, so replace the photo or crop it before the pin is saved.
Does anything go live without my approval?
No. A scheduling request becomes a pending action in Tareno, and Pinterest receives the pin only after you approve it in the dashboard. `get_action_status` shows what happened afterwards.
